PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) is a mineral mining company affiliated with Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) and Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID). PTFI mines and processes ore to produce concentrates containing copper, gold, and silver. We market these concentrates globally, with a primary focus on domestic copper smelter PT Smelting. Our operations are based in the remote highlands of the Sudirman Mountains, Mimika Regency, Papua Province, Indonesia.

The Grasberg mineral district in Papua, Indonesia, is home to one of the world’s largest copper and gold deposits. Currently, we are in the final phase of mining the Grasberg open pit. We are also engaged in multiple projects within the Grasberg mineral district, focusing on the development of several large-scale, long-life, high-grade underground mines. Altogether, these underground mines are expected to produce substantial amounts of copper and gold as we transition from open-pit to underground mining at Grasberg.

Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) is a leading international mining company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. FCX operates large, long-lived assets with significant reserves of copper, gold, and molybdenum, spread across various geographic locations. FCX’s asset portfolio includes the Grasberg mineral district in Papua, Indonesia, the southwestern deserts of the United States, and significant mining operations in North and South America, such as the large-scale Morenci mineral district in Arizona and the Cerro Verde operations in Peru. FCX is the world’s largest publicly traded copper producer. Its shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “FCX.”
